1. How do you find the x and y location of an object on the canvas?
2. How do you place objects with specific x and y coordinates?

1: what hansel said, dont remember if there is any other way...
Hansel so hot right now... lol
2: make your measurments show pixels, view grid and make sure snap to grid is turned on. You can also alter how your grid looks in photoshop properties

#1 is kind of a cheezy way of doing it, because you can't really be sure if your mouse is in the exact corner of a feathered object. In Macromedia Fireworks, it tells you the x and y!

1: when you have the object layer selected, hit ctl T (free trasform) and on the top menu bar, you will see the first two entries are X and Y coordinates. this is where you can find these coordinates or change them if you choose to.

also on the same note as above you have a registration indicator feature on the left of those imput boxes, so depending on where you want to calculate the pixels positioning you will have to select the the point. (eg.. center, top left, top right..ect..)
edit \\ so this is basically the answer to both questions ;)
