Computer Graphics World has a nice article about Half-Life 2 and some of the technology behind it. Its interesting they used XSI and plan to ship a light version with the game (its actually a nice program - its nice to see some attention brought its way).
You can read the article here:

Im really looking forward to the game, if not just for the modding possibilities. People are sure to have a field day with it! (I know I would if I had the time).

From what I hear, the game is going to download the levels in single player and then when you beat them they are deleted. Some sort of protection from pirating.

I bought my 9800 pro one month before they instituted that free half life offer. I got ripped off bigtime! At least it feels that way.
Not that it would matter, doesnt the ticket say the free game will be shipped 4 weeks after HL2's release or something like that? Who could wait that long?
As far as that deleting files rumor goes, its probably just one of the many false rumors that are being declared. Best Buy actually has an article on its site saying that HL2 is cutting multiplayer from the game. Thats just insane!
