Hey guys, I just got a nvidia geforce 5600. And my counter strike and all other games still look like crap. I know its not the best card nvidia makes but my buddy has the exact card and it looks great, while mine is still got choppy corners. I've heard something about an XP screen refreshed overide program. I tried to get one but they didn't have the drvier for my card. Does anyone know where I can get a fix and if it will actually work?

how would it be CS? It's every game that looks like crap still and I do have all the recent drivers installed and my settings in CS are just like everyone else's. My frame rate is 60 fps in CS which is locked because of some XP screen refresh thing. I've heard I have to somehow unlock it. I think its time to ***** at nividia but they have the worst tech support I've seen to date.

Make sure that Full Screen Anti-Aliasing is enabled, and that you have the lateset versoin of directX. In your video hard driver you can set an option something like "sync verital refresh to system." If you want to "unlock" the screen refresh make sure that box is not checked. Although the card will tell you that you are getting better frame rates, the screen will still only redraw 60 times a second. If you get an image that flickers recheck the box.
Cheers!

Well, if it'll help at all, nVidia recently released a new set of drivers (56.64 i think). try downloading those.

i just downloaded the drivers from nvidia yesterday and its still crap, im just really pissed i wasted $200 and all my games look like crap. All the edges are jadged and its so dark in my games even though gamma and brightness is up. I'm just pissed off, I dont know what to do. Nvidia doesn't provide support and I custom built the computer so I have no one to call.
