What are you using to make it? (3D and Art Software names, please)
I like it, but it still looks like a model, not a building...
You should add a few cracks and mortar spills and scrapes etc, if that's the look you're going for.
-Tip: (From the Greeks)
In now-ancient temples with huge pillars, the pillars were actually built tapered, so as to appear from a distance perfectly vertically straight.
This is now known as 'greek perspective' or a perspective where things look right but aren't actually. Each large chuck of stone was made just centimeters thinner than the one on top...

The textures look a little repetitive, which detracts from any realism you might have been going for.
Nice tip from blue boots... I think the difference between something that is good and great is in the details.

Thnx for the tips - its a work in progress so what I've posted was just what I was working on. I took some tips to heart and have been working on detailing it and its turning out nice. Thnx. As for the textures and the lighting...its all just for placement for now so I can see where I should put other things. I plan on modifying my textures at a later date...but for now its coming together quite well. I still have the whole interior to do which is a whole 'nother ball game. The pillars are supposed to be bronze so I'll add some bronze lighting and textures later on...etc. Here's an updated larger shot.

Not bad,
I just think the shapes seem a little to basic.
Looks like a lot of cubes and such, yet this is a temple, so I'd say it fits nicley.
I like the pillars, you model those NURBS or poly's?
Simple structure, yet entertaining, keep it up bud!

Shazmax, where you been dood?
I agree the pillars dont look right. The textures are ok but like you said this is still a WIP right?
the text on top fits perfect.
Great to see you back, i cant wait to see more.
Are you using MAX?

You should adjust the top depth of the bulbs on the pillars, and beware the sub-patch...

Yea this is very very starting stage of it all - its been hard to find pictures of the original temple because no one truly knows what it was exactly like. I'm doing most of this with some artistic license and with some artist illustrations to go by. As for the textures...its not finished...but here's some sample illustrations so you can see what it should look somewhat like when its done.
Wassup Hansel! I've been on a long hiatus - bad economy for artists in our location.

And those pillars actually have names - they are called Jachin and Boaz. They are representative of pomegranates (fertility) for that time. The outside architecture is basic and sure its simple...but the interior (remember this is huge inside and I'm building it to scale) is pretty complex. Here's some sample images of an artists basic rendering of the pillars.

Use an architure program, like Autocad or (If you can get it) ArchiCad.
You can't do this in your standard software, not to scale!
