Hello people... i haven't posted in a while 'cos i haven't had the time but i recently upgraded my Photoshop to the CS edition and all my beloved keyboard shortcuts don't work.

I have checked in the shortcut menu and they are all set to how i know, but they just don't work when i press them!

Its weird and really annoying. Any help will be ace.

sharif, it is common for those who have a particular pirated version of photoshop cs for there shortcuts not to work. if he was upgrading with a purchased serial and authorization code then all should be fine.

Its a known problem with pirating the CS version. I'm surprised he didn't stumble across that thread and figure out not to post it ;P

I actually was given a proper version from friend (on a proper purchased CD) who is going traveling and will not be useing his computor at all for about 6 months. He has uninstalled it from his machine and there should no problem with it on mine (unless for some reason you can only ever install it on the first machine you ever do)

Plus im not that keen on being told that i have pirated something when there is a genuine problem. But thats just me.

Dude there is no issue with the standard upgrade. Your friend has passed you along a pirated version which has the known bug of no shortcuts. But when it comes to purchased software you should always call the vendor first in this case adobe. Here is the corporate phone number 408-536-6000. Be advised tho. Talk to your friend first before you give them that serial #. I bet I know what you s/n is :beam: Good luck.

Outside of a re-install I dont know what could help you with your problem.

Okay i will talk to my friend but as far as i could see with the disk it looked fine. Looked all legit but i geuss i should ask him. If it turns out to be dodgy then i'll just get rid of it and stick with 7. Cheers DDD.

like DDD said, if it is a valid CD, then uninstall, clean your registry, and app settings, then reinstall. It may fix it. If your friend has taken it off of his computer, then legally you can call Adobe for tech support, with no worries. If it is a hacked/pirated version, Adobe will just tell you that it is not a valid SN, to which you say, cool, I will just go back to 7, which is a valid sn, thank you.

Nothing will happen to anyone if you follow those simple steps...

don't forget to clean all instances of the prog first.

Then reboot, run a reg cleaner, then reboot again before reinstalling...

I have to do this for Adobe quite a bit
