Which 3d Software do you think was the easiest for you to learn in the shortest amount of time? Just by reading the Manual that comes with the software? I would have to choose Swift 3d because they have a quickstart that you have to create a full 3d object and also along the way they show you what hotkeys to use, and what does what. But on the other hand, it is also not one of the more advanced softwares out there, but i'd like to hear what you have to say, and if you'd like to see more 'quickstart guides' out there available for your favorite programs.:bounce:

you really cannot include Swift with those other big boys really. Of course swift's manual will be easier it does but a fraction of what the others do.. When you install maya I believe it has a screen that pops up on first start with about 4 or 5 tuts.

i agree with DDD regarding swift3d, it cant be placed along with the others in this catergory, but in general dont they all have a little something for each user, i mean they dont just sell you a thousand dollar app without some sort of helpfull manual or introduction within the application.

which is more helpful?, well some people pick up a particular app faster than others. as helpful as a guide can be you still have to understand the application in some sort of way to be able to follow the guides in my opinion.

maya's manual is very comprehensive - especially the MEL reference section, but it's a b1tch to learn :)

The 3Ds Max one was fine for me. Very comprehensive help section. But, some people prefer other programs over others. It all comes down to personal preference out of the big 4 (Max, Maya, C4D, and Lightwave). There is a free version of Max (gMax = basically 3D Studio Max without the rendering capabilities) Maya (Personal Learning Edition). I'm not quite sure about the others, but before making a purchase I would definitely look into these as a little hint of what the main for-pay programs will give you.

3dsmax taught me the most but was a hard read. Maya's was easier to follow but I got alot more from 3dsmax.
