I have been working on a site for a Eye Doctor's Office. The goal of the site was to allow patients to sign up online so that they would be able to order contacts through the doctors' office from the internet. The process is that the patient registers, and an e-mail gets sent to the staff at the doctors' office. The staff then inputs the patient's prescription information from their chart through a built in administration section. The user is e-mailed when their account has been updated by the staff so that they know they will be able to log in and order. Then, when the patient orders, another e-mail is sent to the staff telling them what the patient ordered. Then the staff is able to e-mail the patient back through the site when their order is ready.

The site is done except for the e-mailing system, which will be finished over the weekend. I want to know approximately how much I should charge for this site. The layout is extremely simple, because that is what the client asked for. Also, the links on the left hand side go to their old site, which I was not commissioned to update. Hosting is not included because they already have a server.

The link is:
www.barbdwyer.com/contacts

Please feel free to test the registration and ordering system as well, and tell me if you find any bugs. Don't worry about being billed for anything yet, the system is not "online" yet. Thanks.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot, they wanted the site so that their patients would have an at-home alternative to 1-800-Contacts, because they hate 1-800-Contacts. LOL :P

Oh yes, and thanks to Marz for the help in IRC :)

And the information is also stored in a mySQL database for later use (forgot to mention that lol)

for the site it self, you should charge wat ever u c fits
and the database plus emailing system charge about 40$ an hour for each hour u spent on it!
just calculate ur hours and if u feel that ur work worth more than 40$ an hour then add more $$. just be confident when u tell them the price of the site, and never go back on ur word, because if u do they will think ur ripping them off!

well i would usually charge bye the hour, but I am just learning how to do it, so it probably took me a lot longer than someone who knew what they were doing in the first place. I want an end price for the final project.
