Art School....

For those of you old enough to be applying to college, or already in college:

What did everyone write about when applying to art school (the essay portion) I am applying as a transfer student from a 4 year state college to art school(s) I am completely dry on what to write about, or what one might like to read.

any ideas, help?!

hi. :)

talk about why you want to do the course (like if you where interested in art as a young kid etc)

then talk about your work (if you are going to show a portfolio at some point to them) and what peices you enjoyed working on most, and why. and which peice you think is your strongest, an why.

then talk a bit about any artists that you admire, and any that inspire you and your work.

then any galleries, exibitions, portfolios etc that you have seen, and what you liked about them.

then any hobbies you have other than art related (like any sports etc)
and what you do in your spare time (like hobbies, art, jobs etc)

then if you have done any work experience, art related jobs, internships etc, explain a little about them here

then excplain what skills you have. and what materials you have used, and how long for. (like acrillics - 2 years, digital - 1 year, water paints - 5 years, etc)

and then lastly what your future plans are after college, and what you would like to do as a proffesion.



hope that helps, though this is only the way i did it, so make sure you get some more advice before doing it, cos i might be wrong (even thouh i did get in :P)
