Well, they're broadcasting them at 1:00 am here in Belgium, you guys are lucky to be able to watch 'em at normal times...

My personal predictions:

Movie
The Return of the King

Director
Peter Jackson – The Return of the King

Actor
Sean Penn (or Bill Murray)

Actress
Keisha Castle-Hughes – Whale Rider

Supporting Actor
Tim Robbins – Mystic River

Foreign Language
Canada - The Barbarian Invasions

Animation movie
Finding Nemo

Score, Costumes, Sound, Visual Effects and Make-up
The Return of the King

That's my guess. And I saw all of the movies I'm talking about, so I know what I'm saying :D

YES! I am so glad Lord of the Rings won so many. I also liked Sean Penn's performance in 21 grams, but he won for Mystic River instead :)

Its a sweep for LOTR:ROTK 11 nominations and 11 oscars. Thank god for once they didn't ignore a great movie because it was fantasy.

Sucks about Bill Murray not winning. Sean Penn is a great actor but i was really hopeing for Murray to get the much desireved win.

I doubt they considered those Oscars for just ROTK. I think they honored all 3 movies as a whole last night. And yes it is 11 Oscars good.

In my opinion,
nope...

Just the usual mixture of kung-fu, war hero and good looking battles..

ditto everything sintax said. It wasn't just about ROTK last night,
it was about the movie epic event of our lifetime.

My only question is, how could they NOT have even been
nominated for cinematography?? :h:

The Oscars are such as scam!

why else have only 2 african americans ever won the top award?

when will the next be? 10, 20, 50 years?

With 11, ROTK tied Ben-Hur for most awards. I do think the movie is good, but not quite to that level. Of course it also ties with Titanic, so maybe that is accurate...

Oscars = Organized Crime

maybe not the same Family that runs the drugs/prostitution/rico, but still an organized group with lots of power, looking to control their portion of the world with intimidation, graft, and of course just plain old dead presidents...
