So what do you guys htink the posiblities would be? Do you think it would be as stable? What about apple hardware? If it were ported do you think that apple hardware would become non-existant?
I think that the possiblities of OSX on a PC wold be endless. This being said i dont want to see it. As much as it would be nice to see OSX get its percentage number up, it looses the vibe of the Mac community. Maybe a PC version of the Mac OSX?
What are your thoughts?

Definitely possible.. Don't quote me on this, but I don't think that much of the code would have to be rewritten at all, just recompiled. I think the only thing that would have to be totally rewritten is the kernel itself.
It could definitely be as stable - Linux & Free/Open/NetBSD are all as stable as OSX.
I don't think apple hardware would be non-existant. In fact, if it became the dominant OS on the PC, then maybe even mac hardware might become more popular.
What are your thoughts?
I doubt it will happen, but it would be cool. Anything that involves a UNIX based OS on the desktop is good for me & good for all the BSD or GNU/Linux OS's

Hrmm, OSX on PC eh?
That sounds really messed up...
I mean, Mac is made for for the OSX..
I do love the osx, really handy and all, but I don't think it would go good with PC. thx +_+

I wouldn't speak so fast. Mac OS X is the most stable in all tests/surveys. I don't want to see it, the only reason Windows is so horrible is because of all the stupid people on it. If stupid people found their way over to Mac OS X, they would find a way to screw it up. ;P

The reason why Mac OS X is so stable, is because it's based on UNIX. Linux is also based on UNIX. That's why both are very stable. I don't know about Open/Free/NetBSD, but it could very well be that they are also based on UNIX.
Windows is based on DOS, which is a weak OS compared to UNIX. Put another bad coded GUI above that and you have the crappiness of Windows.

BSD is even more UNIX than Linux ;)
Windows is so poor because it never gives you access to the core of the OS. In linux, if X/KDE buggers up, I can use Ctrl+Alt+one of the F keys and go to a terminal, from where I can login and type
killall X and shut down KDE.
Then, I can restart KDE. Remember, I've done all this without rebooting. And this works no matter what happens to my system. Even if the system is so lagged up that the mouse will barely move, it still works.

Mac OS X also uses Darwin, which is d*mned secure. I don't really care, all I care for is: Windows is horrible, Mac OS X is stable. :)

If Apple really wants to move away from a minority pc/software maker, they need to diversify into the PC market. Their accessories are pretty cool though.
Vertically integrated companies - companies that make their own software and hardware - don't survive for long no matter how good their product is. IBM was a good example of that with regards to their PC business.
Then again it is the hardware integration that makes the OSX fairly good also. They don't have to worry about the random components the PC has.

Very Possible, OSX Darwin base oddly has some code to boot up on x86 (I mean the version of Darwin that's in the OSX CD, not the x86 port you can get off their site)
Although there would need to be massive tweaking so the software would work on OSX.

I think that they should work on a new operating system and SOMEHOW (if even possible) make it slightly better then panther, and deploy it RIGHT after longhorn comes out for x86. Then people will see that OS X is always going to be better. :-D
