Apologies if I posted this one before, but I've only just found it lurking on my C:/... Forgotton all about it. :)
Not as pleased with this Rinoa as I am with Paine or Edea, but I think she looks kinda... spaced out... enough. Might have to try her again soon, now I've remembered her. :)

woah, love that skin tone. very cool indeed. i'm guessing its illustrator? (all most on your site are) i hear illustrator is a ***** to use. i tried it once. they were right :D well done for bieng able to use it so well. very cool :D
ok, crit time:
the lips are a bit too blured, and the hair looks a little un-touched up. i have no idea about illustrator, but try to blend the hair a bit more to make it look more natural.
well done. looking forward to seeing more :)

I do all the outlines in Illustrator, since I can't use the Pen tool in PS for beans. Plus it means I can resize the image afterwards since it's invariably the wrong size. :)
The colouring on the other hand, is PS. Illustrator is a pig to use sometimes, and whilst I can do flat colour OK in it, I can't do this. So PhotoShop it is. :)
Cartoonfox, Eilsoe, thanks for the crits, have to agree on all them. :) Hair I'm not keen on at all really. Since she's got black hair, it was pretty difficult to get a decent idea of what was going on with it, so it did indeed come out a bit pants. :) Lips.. Yeah, they aren't ideal either...
I think I did this one before the one of Paine. She's probably my favourite so far. :)

Game freak.. Yeah, have to hold my hands up to that. I just love the characters Square come up with, you can do so much with them...
And I do like Nintendo, I still have my SNES hooked up. :) But since most of the games I like are on either PS2 or XBox, I never got round to buying a GameCube. I do have a GBA sp though. :beam:
Anyway, since the host is playing up, this is Paine...

Thanks. :) This is the pic that I'm most proud of tbh. Usually I manage to get either the hands or feet wrong, but this time I cut off any semblance of feet and the hand I did do came out OK, so result. :P
Well, if the site has uploaded correctly, then it should be on the first page of the Art Gallery, the last picture since it's the most recent.
You can tell if the site has uploaded, because the menu now makes a 'dink' noise on rollover. If that isn't happening, then something's gone wrong somewhere...

Kit has some other really good artwork in the "worlds" section of her site... ;)

Seriously, Kitiara is one of the best Character Artists I've had the pleasure of knowing. :)
Great job, always thought the Paine one looked good enough to be in the FFX-2 Manual... you sure you drew it ;P

If only I had the manual... Because then I would have the game and I would be playing it... :)

Don't tempt me. :) I already own most of the OSTs, imported through eBay or Amazon. :)
Can't wait to get that game. I want to draw a group picture of the three main characters, that would be fun...

hmm, i saw an ad in GAME for a new FF game. no doubt for ps2. is that the one you want? i cant remeber what number it was.
how do you feel about FF:crystal cronicles? my brother is getting it when it comes out next month. and i think it looks **** sweet. it seems to go back to the old nintendo roots. which is a very good thing :D
/sorry, hi-jack over\

February 27th, 2004, 10:56 AM
I'm renting FF:CC, and it looks, and plays sweet... only problem: You HAVE to have GBAs to play Multiplayer, and whenever I save, when I try to load, it says: "Data Corrupted", and deletes my save, so I've seen the intro movie (which you can't skip), like 8 times now...
I'm going to try and buy my own copy, and hope it saves correctly.

hi, yeah i have a gba and so does my brother.
what memory card do you have? 3rd party ones regulary have problems. i only ever trust the nintendo cards, which are the best anyway. and the memory card 251 is the same price as the 51, and is all yopu need for a long time (unless you like playing footbal sims ;))
yeah it looks really cool. and like i said before. it has gone to its roots. which meen you wont be watching a movie for three hours and then play for half an hour :D (sorry kitiara ;) )

Np. :)
I'm always willing to hijack a thread for the sake of Final Fantasy. :)
More artwork of which is on the way. I'm doing a picture of Rikku - the lineart one in Square's promotional material where she's standing up with two shuriken or something. Big hair deal going on. I'm drawing that.
Plus it's been a while since I did some Vincent pictures, so I'm planning a collage of my favourite RPG character ever. Oooo, and some Sephiroth... :)

I have 2 official Nintendo Memory cards, plus a MadCatz (or whatever its called)
Both of my Nintendo cards are filled with an Animal Crossing Town. Can't move it, would be killed my my wife if I deleted one of them. The MadCatz has everything else on it, and has worked perfectly fine until this game... While it could be the card, I feel its probably the game, since its a rental, and not in the best condition... whats wierd, is that if I save and quit before I actually do anything, then I can load it just fine. After the first boss, if I save, then If I ever go back and access the memory card, even to save over the first save, it comes up with the message about the data being corrupt....
Oh well.
Guess that means I have more time to catch Fish, and dig up fossils.

oh yes, i remember sephiroth and vincent. FF 7 right? by far the best FF on playstation/2. i loved that game. but then after 8 sqauresoft got over excited about cut scenes, and (imo) didnt concentrate so much on the gameplay, which is the most important part. but doesnt matter, FF:CC looks sweet, and i will probably get it when my brother does. i cant wait. that and metal gear solid are my must haves for gamecube (of course ;)) next month.
cant wait too see your latest art work. :) i too am now inking todays creature. its full body (yay :D) so it will take me a while. but the night is still young :D
uh oh, my pen seems to be running out a bit, ad i dont think i have another. you wonna help me out and get me some stuff when you go shopping? ;)

seifertime, man you are so lucky to have animal crossing. it looks like it kicks ***. i love games like that. but the chances of having it here in europe are very slim, though we have had some evidence of having it here soon... *crosses fingers* :D
well when i go to live in new york, i'll get it then :D

VII was without doubt the best one they've done, at least in my opinion. The plot was great, the characters interesting (and full of secrets), and I happily whiled away a good portion of my life on it. Sephiroth was the most engaging villain in a long time, probably because you couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him, even if he was trying to destroy the world... And Vincent was just the best. :)
Haven't tried Crystal Chronicles, mainly because I don't have a GameCube... :sure:
I'm going to have to start a FF thread in games, I think. :) Just have!
cartoonfox
February 27th, 2004, 11:29 AM
yes, i didnt have it myself, as i didnt have a playstation. so i would run to my cousins have like every day in the summer holidays to play it on his playstation. :D i absolutley loved it! :D ahh, the good old days. :D
lol, i wont be able to post much in that thread, as i dont know much about FF, but i'll try :)

VII was the best out of all of them, story-wise, and had one of the best Systems ever (Materia).
I could go on and on and on about the story.
I can't even remember how many times I've played that game, at least 6 times straight through, start to finish.
Chronicals does not, in any way, shape, or form, have the type of story, or system, that could match VIIs. It is closer to a Final Fantasy Crossed with Zelda, with the ability to have multiplayer (if you have enough GBAs, and link cables). I think its a fun game (so far), but I haven't seen a good FF story since VII. The top 3 FF stories of all time (at least, that I've played), would have to be, in order: VII, VI, and IX.

yeah but its allways hard to make better games than the classics.
can you think of a better game than zelda OOT?? of course not, it is THE best game ever. period. :D
how about mario 64?
golden eye?
mario kart 64?
:D
so you shouldnt really try to compare old classics with the new ones :)
