Mardi Gras was rather dissapointing over here. Cops were out in the riot gear early and kept a pretty tight lid on the whole scene.
How was everyone elses celebration of excess?

It's been rather quite here. I've worked all weekend and not too much more craziness than the normal weekend. Lots of flashin for beads though

This mardi gras party i was heading to got busted right before I got there. The cops were there IDing people, so i'm kinda glad I hadn't come sooner.
But there's always Tuesday...

In Portland Oregon, in the middle of February, who is flashing anything?
Portland really isn't a hotbed of Partying... there is very little mention of Mardis Gras, or Fat Tuesday Parties, or anything else in the media...
?
so please explain who is flashing for what beads... I am very curious.
Lunatic: did you flash anyone?

I'm just waiting for the Sims: Mardi Gras to come out for the PC. Hopefully it'll be playable online so I can have the fun of mardi gras without freezing in the cold (as opposed to freezing in the heat?) outside haha ;)
But I really have never been to a Mardi Gras celebration before. That's definitely something that I may go to if they are having something like that around here.

Philadelphia has a crazy Fat Tuesday party. The cops have tightened security up a bit more, however, in the past few years.
I think on any college campus you'll find some awesome parties too. We didn't have any this weekend because of THON
http://www.thon.org/
so the University has been focused on that the whole time. I'm about to go there now.
You don't need cops with riot gear to have fun ... just a friend with handcuffs on - or those plastic click ties they use now.

Rev,
The people who come into my bar are flashing.

Hang on, is this like a Shrove Tuesday thing? Because if memory serves, then it's Pancake Day tomorrow... :)

Yeah, Fat Tuesday is really more of an after thought around here. The weekend before is when all the parties happen.

Heres a little follow up, it seems our sleepy little town made national news. :)
