I want a waffle (yes, A waffle!) in a vector graphic format. Can someone help me?

It would be very preferable if the file were in a Adobe Illustrator-format...

Do you have any vector software? It would be better if you learned how. Being that this a learning forum. Your first post should not be asking for a freebie. I could give you some pointers on how to do it yourself, but I dont think anyone will do it for you.

Um, for the most part, I would agree with DDD, you should at least attempt to make it yourself, and by screwing up, you can learn, and modify, until you get it right!

Just a hint: Rounded Rectangles are your friend! :beam:

Here's some vector waffles that I converted from Microsoft clipart (yes, thats legal as long as you dont sell the waffle vector), just in case you don't have any vector software of your own. Its in EPS format:

I'm working on one, but the waffle I started constructing (in Illustrator) seemed impossible to fill with a color. I know I constructed it in a wrong way; because I just drew many lines and grouped them together. Can I convert a group of lines and other shapes into a complete shape, so I can fill it with color(s)? How, then?

Thanks for all the help

select the point on the lines with the point selection tool or hit A. then press Ctl J to join the lines, makes sure you all the lines are ungrouped first.

Thanks. I'll try that. By the way, my waffle will be looking like this (http://home.no/ostekjeks/Luftwaffel.png).

I've joined the lines, but I still can't mesh or fill the waffle with color... Why?

seifer: That IS in fact a waffle. We have waffle irons here in DK too that has that kinda shape.. it's a ring of heart shaped waffles.

Why CheeseCracker chose those, I don't know... but it IS a waffle.. like... shape :)

It's a Norwegian waffle... And I honestly think our Scandinavian waffles looks better than the square-like ones. But can anyone help me to FILL the waffle with color or use the mesh tool on it??

umm... is each heart a single object? you need a completed path to fill properly, so yeah, it's important that the hearts are single path, closed vectors.
You can use 'pathfinder' options to help with that if it's not working, check them out in the help file :)

You could try making one large outline shape that's filled with colour. Then make the hole shapes and cut them out of the background shape.

That makes no sense, does it? :)

hahaha. Get a picture of a waffle from google images then import it to any vector software then trace it. Delete the imported image and you'll be left with a vector waffle!

I managed to fill the waffle, but now I want to make a new one. This time I want it to be absolutely precise. I have measured a real waffle iron, and scaled down the waffle a little bit. I’ve made a drawing (http://home.no/ostekjeks/Waffle-constructing.jpg) where you can see most of the measurements of the waffle I want to make. The question now, is how do I make this in Illustrator? Can someone tell me the best way to construct the shape of the five connected hearts? Is there a way to construct shapes in Illustrator that allows you to simply input the specified angles of the shape? For example; how do I make a triangle with the angles 72º, 54º and 54º?

Can anyone help me with my new (hopefully perfect) waffle?

Thanks for all your help, by the way!
