I just noticed this and I wonder if it is something f'd up with my cpu. This machine is a p4 1ghz 512 ram. When I go to 2a or just about any intense flash site my CPU usage in my task manager maxes out! Is this normal? Or is something screwed with this particular machine?

My alienware handles this stuff well. But my laptop (2.4 ghz 512 RAM) and other machine max out when viewing intense flash sites. I know this may seem like a total n00b issue but I just now noticed this. And I am not too good with PC issues, so any insight appreciated.

ive got a p4 2.4 , i tested going to 2a with my task manager open to performance, and in result the cpu usage is definitely going up, ranging from 44% to 100, but its never constantly 100%. Most of the time it happened when alot of things where tweening on the screen at once,

in idle though, its pretty high 70 - 100% .

thats crazy :crazy::!::!:

turn off the music and see the cpu usage go down dramatically!

yeah tried that....mine stays at pretty much 100%. And it does that on alot of sites. But I dont really notice the animation getting choppy or nothing. This is pretty f'n weird. Even my A-ware gets up to like 60%

Just tuned up my 2GHz Athlon with 1024 Ram on it and 2a runs pretty mellow up until the water animation where it sits at a pretty solid 80% usage. (up and down a little) I think your machine is running about normal.

sure is weird DDD, and if you look in your processes, ive got IExplore.exe for 2A up to 37,672k !

thanks ditch......I was kinda scared for a minute. Never really use the task manager, but just so happened to be playing with it and I noticed this. Man no wonder some of my clients hate flash....If you have like word and something else open and you visit an intense flash site.....everything comes screeching to a halt.....weird. Soulty I just noticed that too!....I wish I knew what all those other processes meant and if I could stop them. (without killing my machine :beam: )

That site always 100%s my CPU. Most of their animations are composed of moving images, which really isn't good if you have a lot on a single page.

Hey DDD. Heres a site I used to use for process checking. http://www.sysinfo.org/startupinfo.php Looks like its been moved recently and I haven't used it for awhile so not sure how good it is anymore? If your not sure about a particular process, type it into Google and you'll almost always find out what it is.

if you go to the current site of week, its never that high, nor is other sites that have been site of the week recently. most computers run 2a choppy anyway, probably because 2a dont use much compression on there images, there sites are almost always a full html page size swf, and have a bucket load of movie /3d type animation in there site, the constant water loop at home section would probably be something like 300-500kb on its own.

:: and like thorphies said, moving images are CPU intensive.

thanks man....I will look into it......I wish I would open that thing and only see 3dsmax.exe, PS.exe, FW.exe, IE.exe, flash.exe, DW.exe and (kazaa.exe yeah I said it). nah I know some of that stuff is important but most of it is proabably just killing my resources. Will look into it when I have a few free hours.

DW.exe already kills most of your comp's ressources!!
And not even frees them when you close it!

(ps: DW = dreamweaver, just in case.. :) )

yeah , when i preview my flash movies in dreaweaver, it runs much slower than it should, like you said DW kills your comp's resources.
