hi,
i was wondering why datapimp was banned for a senseless thread. maybe he was in a bad mood or something and just needed to post something as ironic as that.
i would really like to see him unbanded and back into the kirupa circle.

you know what, i have a feeling that he got what was coming, he got warnings and this is what he deserved. If it i sin the mods will to unban him then thats what he will get, but if it is in the mods will to banish him forever, then thats what he will get. he did wrong, thats all that matters, and he had it a long time comming.

Besides, when i talked to him on aim he made it seems like it was an accomplishment, not somethign he was sorry about. :/

Yeah - he was warned for his behavior in the past. He mentioned in IRC of his intentions to create a thread about spamming. I did tell him that it won't end well if you do create a thread. He was also warned in the thread itself about how this wasn't cool or proper.

He was warned repeatedly, but he choose to ignore the big signs saying "Danger Ahead" and ran head first into a brick wall :beam:

If we weren't online but actually talk to real persons, he would not have been banned (how do you ban someone in the real world anyway..), but instead maybe he'd have finally made some friends and have gotten to talk someone with his mouth, not his fingers on the keyboard, much too easy to sit behind your screen and think you can do whatever you want coz nothing's gonna happen to you anyway, no consequences to your actions except maybe a ban, so what, go bother another forum..
data is just a poor lonely kid, growing up without friends and human interaction (computers are used by humans, but they do not have facial expressions, intonation etc which are also part of human communication), he feels the whole world dislikes him so he does everything to prove himself right, instead of finally waking up and realising that it's up to him to really be liked, instead of trying to piss everyone off.
It's sad he's banned, but I would've banned him too, it's not an acceptable attitude, so data, if you read this, mail Kirupa and ask nicely, and don't come back with that kind of an attitude if you get unbanned.

RMB - like rev said, I and the mods knew full well about this. In fact, I even warned Datapimp in IRC to not post the thread.

Very few bannings are done without a post in the mod forum explaining what happened and why the banning took place. We, the mods, try to be very fair. Sometimes we go out of our way to be fair.

i'm sure that datapimp knew what was coming... the mods here, as flawed as they are (believe me dipi... they are), there's one thing you can't say about them.... that they don't have patience.
