create buttons

when I try to create a button by creating borders and shades around a word, all I get is a huge box from one side of the page to the other. How dow I control this. Is there an easier way to create buttons from within frontpage?

Also, when I apply a DHTML mouse over effect, only the font size changes. I can't get the color of text to change in the animation.

Have you considered using a Hover Button. Go to Insert | Web Component. Click the Dynamic Effects selection and double click the Hover button option that appears on the right. You might be able to re-create the button effect that you want!
