Riiigggghhhtttt. When they said it was bad for America's image I was thinking more along the lines of, skinny east Asian people do really well at these contests. How can America be one of the most obese nations in the world if a morbidly obese person doesn't happen to win? That's where the disgrace is! It's an outrage (said like Al Sharpton!)

That's the real problem. That article missed the real issue by a mile ;P

ROFL, I know right?

Stuff like this had me reeling...

In addition, if scientific research indicates some intelligence or emotional
awareness in animals, shouldn't infinitely rational beings, like Americans,
think twice about participating in or enjoying something so frivolous as a hot
dog-eating contest? The animals primarily used as ingredients in hot dogs,
cattle, chickens, turkey and pigs, qualify as intelligent and aware by the same
standards commonly used to illustrate the superiority of humans.

The wuss that wrote that whiny little girl article was the kind of kid that got stuffed into a locker in High School.

Of all the problems in this world he singles out America over a friggin hot dog eating contest. This clown-shoe should have been drowned at birth.

I think he has a point. Come on. 44 and a 1/2

I mean if 44 homeless people got a hotdog. wouldn't that be better? or is that "giving" un-amerikan.

his arguments are weak and not put together well...is the point...he makes sweeping generalizations that really don't have a thing to do with each other...

:a point to make with no soap box:

Yeah. According to your argument T-O, all fun should be outlawed because there will be somebody out there who can't have fun ;)
