My eyes hurt....I have been looking thru the sticky for an aged/old paper tutorial for photoshop. Anybody have a link to one or know of one? I know thewebmachine.com has one but they are down right now for some reason. Or if anyone has a brush or a picture of aged/old paper that would be cool too!

I've found some on how to age photographs, but I've been searching and have'nt come up with much along the lines of paper. If you want the photo links I'll give you those, otherwise I'll just keep lookin for ya.

I really must get the tutorial done on how to do it. The problem is there are so many diffrent techiques you can do to get diffrent styles of paper that you would need a few tutorials on all the diffrent styles and techniques. Plus i don't have much time for anything right now. Hope that PSD helps you out DDD.

yea man that helped tremendously. I dissected your paper .psd....And tried to mimic what you did....and came up with my own technique.....check it out...still needs a lil work tho....
you provided a psd and an idea how to do it to........its like that teach a man to fish saying.

Hmm I saw one on iStockPhoto, and I kick myself for not grabbing it (being the free photo of the day).
But you wanted I tutorial...i've never really seen a paper tutorial that looks like real paper.

Sin
I selected my square (cntrl+click the layer).....Then made a new alpha channel. Then added a crystalize filter to it (small like 3)......
With the selection still there went back to my layer then added the alpha channel as a mask.
Then to get the discoloration I did a inner glow of black with a colorize blend mode and added a bunch of noise to the inner glow layer style.
To get the blotched paper look I did a render>>clouds then played with the hue sat and lightness.
I think it came out ok......

Yep it looks good. They clouds come in handy if you dont' have a texture to overlay.

looks nice :)
depending on what you're using it for, it might look good if you make it slightly irregular in shape, maybe a bit curled in one corner or just a bit wavy, as if it's been warped by age or something. Also, a drop shadow could help make it stand out from the background a bit more
- but i don't know what you're using it for, so it may not be applicable

yeah true......I may add like a shear to it. So it looks wavy....
