One of my friends has a website and he wants to do advertising on it. He doesn't want to go through 'Ad Networks' in which they will pay him 40% while they get 60% and besides their rates are very low.

He got this idea. He wants to hire an Advertising Agency for his website. He want them to deal with companies in a professional manner and find him advertisements from companies. This will be like professional services and stuff. I know AnandTech has an Advertising Agency in California, somewhere.

Would it be possible for my friend to hire an Advertising Agency and then pay the Agency 20% or 30% of whatever the Agency helps him sign up with a company?

Let us know. It sounds good and practical but is it possible?

I think your best bet would be to talk to some advertising agencies. And most agencies don't want to work for a comission they work for your cash.

Advertising is currently a very looked down option for a lot of sites... Even the regular advertising is getting looked down at lately..

But generally... You may have to "take one for the gain" as it is said.

I know they work for cash but how will I give them cash if they don't provide my site with any advertising. If they provide me with advertising, I will pay them on a monthly basis. Does anyone know some reliable ad agencies?
