Hey eilsoe that's pretty cool. I'm definitely going to download a trial of after effects if they have one.

if you open up some of the layers features you will see some bezier curves, maniplulate them to get the easing you want.. havent tried it myself, but heard thats the way to do it..

here ya go, this is what i mean, when you keyframe a object you will be given another menu under your position (or whatever you are keyframing ...eg scale)

then you play with the bezier curves for smooth easing.

or like all 3d app tutorials do, the sharp bounce of a ball.

not too hard, the effects that eilsoe is creating are pointing to the more experienced user, but possible with some practise.

the tutorials he is following are at http://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e.html

I'm in the process of creating a tutorial for beginners for animation with keyframes. should have it done by tomorrow or so.

Hey Soulty,

I can't wait for you tutorial. I've searched and searched and I can't find a toot that's basic enough for me. lol I downloaded the after effects trial and I can't figure out how to make anything happen. I consider my self a fairly intelligent individual but after effects is starting to make me think that I'm really retarded.

Anyways, if you could post the url of where you tutorial is when you're finished I'd be very grateful.

Thanks

Thanks
LOL..... :trout:

No worries, if all goes well, should have it out by this afternoon.

tutorial is pretty simple, but i made it lengthy on purpose, because I tried to run through each step so people can understand.

Tutorial covers..

- Starting a new composition
- a little bit of info about AE
- import image
- working with your timeline
- Adding keyframes to record controls / editing keyframes
- adding a simple filter
- rendering out to a movie

thats about it. Remember its all simple and for beginners, so people that have already worked with AE might find it boring.

cheers
