Compressing .rm files

Hi ppl,

I need some help with this one..I have some file with .rm extension which i need to compress.The file size is pretty large.
some of them are around 40 MB.I want or rather my client wants to upload these files which obviously he cant due to the size of the file and server time outs. I need to know how i can get around this one..
