I'd rather prefer a nice tall glass of Lager.. Yuengling.. America's oldest brewed beer...
Mmm... The sheer taste alone with a nice juicy medium done steak is blisteringly brilliant.. :D
So.. Sorry I couldn't vote :)

What about Staropramen. Personally I think it takes Grolsch' accolade as king on loopy-juice

I detest the taste of most beer. I'm favoring Smirnoffs and thats basically the only thing I'd drink, even Vodka is pushing it.

Heineken is nice too

my favourite beer?
1643 Würzburger Hofbräu (hehee, Würzburg is my hometown :) )
no Idea about russian beer, never tried it, but I love Vodka :D

When I was in college I used to drink nothing but dark, expensive beer, a la Bass, Harp, Sierra Nevada, Saranac, etc... Now, it's straight Bug Light. I just can't stomach the dark stuff anymore.

I quite like a nice Grolsch, the pop of the swingtop, ahh...
but mostly I like to pop up to Sainsbury's and buy some bottles of smaller brewery beers and ciders.

Three businessmen are sitting in a pub at the same table. One is the head of Anheuser-Busch, the producer of the American beer Budweiser, another is the marketing director in charge of promoting Miller Lite and the third is the head of the brewery at St. James Gate, the producer of Guinness. The Anheuser-Busch guy orders a Bud light and the Miller Lite guy asks for a Miller Lite. Extremely disappointed, the man from St. James Gate says:... "Well, if you two are just having water, then I'll have an Evian."

hahaha :) Seriously, European beer actually tastes like there is alcohol in it..... the american beer is just half beer half water or something like that

I would drink Guinness, but I prefer not having to drink my beer with a knife and fork ;)

I'm not one for beer really - I like hard stuff.
But if I had to choose, I'd say Miller Lite. It's the only beer I enjoy at all.

When I worked for Gordon Biersch in Hawaii, I became quite fond of their "marzen" or amber ale...
I don't like "yellow" beer. Lite beer, why bother?
I like to say I like my beer with hair on it...
The only brew up there that I would buy in a bar is Red Hook, and that is only if it is ESB (extra special bitter)...
There is a loccal microbrew, called Anchor Steam, which is the Budweiser of Amber ales in Sf... It's okay, I just drink it way too fast, 'cause it tastes very lite, and then my evening is cut short, or my pool game goes right down the drain, with the beer I just rented...
I really got into the 16+ oz glass of Marzen straight from the brewery, and Iced down by liquid nitrogen... They have a tradition call "pao hana" where you get 1 beer after your shift, then you gotta leave... great tradition...

hey tuknuk- you ever have anything made by Big Rock(trad., warthog, etc)? It's pretty good, but I can't find it anywhere in the states.
I voted for guinness but there are others that I like better that aren't on the list...fat tire, 1554, easy street, cutthroat(all local microbrews...my town has some **** fine breweries), bass, sammy smith's oatmeal stout, stoney creek vanilla porter, dundee's honey brown....

used to drink natty light all the time my freshman year because it was about $4-5 a 12-pack.
natty ice is even worse that that though.
keystone light was a staple for a while, too...about 13 or 14 bucks for a 30 'stones

Firstly, I gotta say that smirnoff ice isn't a beer and I guess they're alright in the morning. lol
Secondly, $4-$5 for a 12 pack! Holy crap! Up here in the great white north (Canada) a 12 pack of any domestic beer costs $18. If you start drinking that imported stuff like heiniken it'll run you like $25. (Now I know how the beer stores here can afford to distribute their own magazine for free. lol)
I mostly drink 'dirty X' aka Molson Ex.

Yep, we have cheap beer that was cheaply made. You know I read somewhere that higher-end beer is actually better for you than cheap beer? It has something to do with the distillation process or something.

January 14th, 2004, 01:18 AM
O really 'cause in the magizine that the beer store publishes I read that all beer is good for you. lol. Seriously though in this mag they have science guys saying it's good for you to have 3-5 beers a day. ****ing propaganda!

where in CA are you bill? Is that $18 CDN or US? With the conversion rate it should even up.
I was in Alberta for a while last year and I remember it being either cheaper or about the same.
CanadianGuy
January 14th, 2004, 01:36 AM
That's in Canadian and if you're american I guess you haven't heard our dollar is gaining momentum.
$18 Canadian = $14.14 American
I'm about an hour outside of Toronto. Between Toronto & Ottawa

This is unrelated but I heard that pretty soon cigarettes here are going to go up to $10 a pack. Right now I think they're like $7-8
The government here taxes the crap out of everything. I don't mind though I think were doin' alright
$10 Can = $7.86 US

that doesn't have the nasty taste of beer! if you dont like beer, dont drink it.. I personnaly enjoy the taste and it's always refreshing... as a matter of fact i actually brewed my own beer last week for my science project (25 liters.. yeehee - and good tasting 6% amber colored ale...)..
My favorite ones are Stouts; belgian strong beers that go up to 12% - they kick ***, but you have to like the sour taste, just as in guinesses....

a well made oatmeal stout is hard to beat...
A couple friends and I used to brew our own beer... it can be quite good, or it can be a total flop...

rev - have you tried sammy smith's oatmeal stout? About $4 for a bomber but it's **** good.
MLK - What did you use to brew it(a kit like Mr. Beer or did you do it the proper way)? I've been wanting to try for a while now but never had the time.
