I have been wanting to make a site that had a corkboard feel to it. With things stuck on with tacks and such.

This is my first attempt at it, let me know what you think.

Thanks in advance for comments and such.

well....if you're going for realism, you could do better using textures/photos etc.

Yes the realism will come eventually. The buttons will also be more realistic. I just wanted to get something out there to see if this idea was going to work.

Yes it has been done before. What can I do to take this idea (be it a good idea or a bad idea) and do something new and unique with it.

For a first attempt at the texture its quite good. I'm guessing you are going to use this as a stepping stone to make the texture more realistic.

Keep us informed.

I like that second one.

Although the more I think about it the more I am thinking about dropping this idea and doing something else. It's nice, but it doesn't leave room for much content.

How about having it half corkboard and half blackboard and have the content writen on the blackboard in a chalk style, i am sure there are fonts out there that represent chalk board writing.

For the realism just go out and buy a cork/black board and take a digi image of it!

Hope that helps

Well the original idea was to have it half coarkboard half whiteboard, then have the content displayed in the whiteboard area. The problem is that there isn't much you can do with a whiteboard. It doesn't leave room for content. All you can really do is have flash draw it on the board.
