Which is the best console?

Teh PS2 is the best, in my opinion.

Oh god. Here we go...

I've played both systems and I have to say PS2 is kind of annoying. The Final Fantasy games are too much. But then again...PS2 is for the more younger and how do I put this..."less educated" people. Oh well. :sure:

PS2 has "SONY" brand on it, XBOX has "MICROSOFT" brand on it.. 'nuff said.

And furthermore, the first time I started up a game on my buds Xbox, it froze. That has never happened on my ps2...

Im going with PS solely for the reasons of controller. I cant stand the XBox controller :sigh:

well if your like me and like to do all sorts of stuff with your consoles besides play games its XBOX hands down baby, you can even chagne parts and supe it up with a faster processor and do crazy stuff with it, my ps2 only does games and movies so it gets kinda boring, and XBOX has basically all or most titles the ps2 has and it has a few cooler games thats my opinion so its really up to you

PS2.

There are so many better games than Final Fantasy, and most of the PS2 owners i know dont play FF at all. And I think PS2 has a better online selection (Madden, Socom, and NO FEES!!!)

Hahaha this is the kind of things that make me laugh again the xbox is so hackable some really great programmers out there made a program that lets you hook up to others and play online without a live account dont believe me check it out you can even sue a modded xbox and play unlike with live wich detects you hacked dashboard and bans you from live by you ip address :evil:

I went for PS2, cause the Xbox is made by M$, and if the Xbox suceeded, then M$ would have a monopoly in two places.

Not necesarily a few years ago yeah maybe this was true but nowadays gaming has lost its toll in Japan and now instead of Americans makign studies on how to attract Japanese consumers its the other way around the Japanese now are studying the US gamers because we play more games and have a bigger gamer market, and yeah teh consoles maybe american and jap like you say but the games are not always made by japs and americans theres also the great people from the other side of the world which make great games.

Ps2 sold well in japan only because it had DVD playback otherwise it woldnt have sold as wel as it did hence sony losing money since no one was purchasing games only DVD movies, freaky japanese i love em :beam:

That depends on whos reading it. ;) Rev doesnt cruise this forum so much so you might get away with it. Im more forgiving. I own a PS2 and hardware wise the XBox is a lot more impressive BUT the sole reason I bought a PS2 was because all the good games come out on PS2 first. Saying that though as of late manufactures have been releasing there games on all platforms at the same time.

Oh yeah the PS2 is smaller and the XBox reminds me of an old VCR unit (only joking!)

well, I don't own either (partially because I can't decide). Both have numerous good games (Xbox: Voodoo Vince, Unreal, Splinter Cell | Ps2: AvP, Socom, Deus Ex) Both have excellent hardware (even if xbox's is better, it doesn't really help the game play all that much). While Xbox has a slightly greater number of good games (to my taste) PS2 has all the other great PS1 games. Xbox comes with multiplayer network thing already installed, PS2 does not - but, with xbox you have to pay (to play online), I don't think thats the same for PS2. Since frankly I don't give a **** about looks or Microsoft's "Corporate monopoly" (congradulations to Bill for managing to do so). So what if xbox is only a miniturized computer. In a way, so is PS2, and gamecube, and everyother console (but xbox more so). Again, so what? Computers are better, which is why I'm going to stick with mine.

Here let me put it this way - the PS2 has a ton more games. It has been on the market a year longer, it has more developers and it has the biggest marketshare of all the consoles hands down. This said, even though they have the biggest and the best, the quality can really be argued. Sure they have their Grand Turismo and FF series and a few other exclusives but let's be honest, it's an againg machine and it show's this time and time again when a new game is released on all platforms.

It never wins in any head to heads besides EA games that is because they include Online content only for the PS2 (but that looks to soon change with the release of 1942)

The Xbox on the other hand has great graphics, some amazing titles of it's own, has more developers jumping on board all the time, the Online community of the Xbox is FAR FAR superior to the PS2 in most every single way. Sure it does cost to go online with the Xbox but only one fee for the entire year. You can buy the start up kit for like 70 bucks, you get a game, a headset and a full year of unlimited gaming - not a bad deal at all. Not to mention there are no 56k users, so this means virtually no LAG when playing online, a truley amazing thing.


It all comes down to preference and what you like. I think the good far out weighs the bad when it comes to the xbox and I can't really say the same thing for the pS2 - in my eye's anyway.
