I've been searching google for a week and I still dont know what a good video editing program would be. Does anyone have any ideas?

Adobe Premiere is the most popular one.

Windows Movie Maker is OK
It come with windows XP and is a fine alternative for those
that can't afford Premiere...
Obviously it isn't as rich in features as Premiere

Vegas Video is the best.. (at least that's what I think)

It has the same stuff as premier + it's more stable and much less complicated...

I hear combustion is the best around even beter than premiere, i saw it in action and if you use 3DSMax you can do really cool stuff with it you can even edit you polygons straight in the appt without opening 3DSMax, but its very expensive but you did ask for the best lol ;)

Windows Movie Maker is too simple, yet Premiere is too complex. You really have to know what you're doing to use the latter. But in the end, you can do a lot of nifty things with Premiere.
