Sorry this isn't a how to, but more of a request for tutorials on how-tos.

A few trends I would like to have a better idea of how to do.

Pattern Fills in Flash to create the overlays of patterns like lines or cris-crosses Exp. http://www.simplyinteractive.net/

Blur effect with flash. Is this done with images from photoshop or with flash? Exp. http://www.elementzoffoto.com the loading image.

Thanks

well i think the blur is a timeline effect (new in mx 2004 and exportable to regular mx swfs). and I can't see what you're talking about in the first one. I may do a tutorial on timeline effects, but it wont be this week 'cuz i have finals.

you can do that rather easily with 2 images a regular one and a blurred one. Just fade in the blurred and fade out the regular. It works better if you have a few blurred images each higher than the other. just fade out and fade in

the patterns are just that, patterns, like creating pixel art, you can create some nice repeative pattern, zoom in a large to about 1600 and plot out some pixels . different plots make different pattern, after you are done, select all , go to edit , define pattern name it , then make a new layer, edit , fill and select pattern from list and pick the pattern you just created... thats about it

such as if you have a 2 by 2 px document

fill in the first pixel with a colour and the other with another constrast colour, then follow the steps above to get vertical scanlines..

;)

edit::: sorry the scanlines are suppose to be 2 H X 1 W px. for horizontal scanlines and 1 H X 2 W px for Vertical scanlines.
