Why do i subscribe to many threads but the don't show in my user profile

Why do i subscribe to many thread don't show in my user profile and don't get emails when answered?

I've noticed this too, the subscribe to thread function doesnt really work very well.... sometimes i recieve emails for threads that i'm not subscribed to as well...
