Can Iframes be targeted?

I was wondering if Iframes can be targeted in the same way as a Frame from Flash. Don't know a whole lot about Iframes so..
This would make things easier for a site I'm making.

turns out they can be targeted in the same way as Frames.
I used:
getURL("home.htm", "iframe_name");
