Hi all
I am new to server side stuff because my clients are small business, but clients want to manage their own sites more these days. So I need to know more about the difference between php and asp, and what are some of the best content management solutions for small busness given their small budgets?
Or should they purchase a product like macromedia's contribute (though i doin't know the cost of that as yet).
thanks for assistance with this ....

Well.. I found that building a very small form driven text based databse to be the easiet solution for my small end client's ozmoz...
Basically I developed a small system where you can use modules (seperate php files) and inclusions (php includes) and then mix them together to store data and information effectively.
Now.. I'll ask a question before further assisting.. How much PHP knwledge do you have and how much databse knowledge do you have...? If you have any database knowledge, which one is it with?

To throw in my 2¢ - I started with PHP and MySQL and I really love it. It's easy because it's logical. I'm not too sure about asp, but I've seen some scripts and it seems really difficult.
I do the same thing as Marz. I make a webpage that they can go to with all the PHP forms they need to update/change their database(s). The best thing about that is I don't have to update their stuff!! Haha!!

hi and thanks.
I have no experience with servers side stuff at all. But dead keen to learn! Just not sure where to start!!!
I have a client who purchased a content management system and a template. But i see he doesnt have any php or other SS tags. That was a little confusing?!
I dont see any MM product mentioned, such as contribute.
