I guess if they were even close to the launch of the PS2 it would have taken off.
I dont think anyone is going to toss their current machine for one that has a few other goodies packed into it.
And on the flipside, if you wanted a ps2 that bad you would have already owned one.
I doubt throwing a dvd/r into a ps2 is going to make anyone a gamer.

The ONLY reason I would buy one is for the cheap (hopefully) DVD-R capabilities. They havent even released a price yet.
The PS2 is pretty far behind the GameCube and Xbox as it is in graphics and technology right now - I dont know if this will make more people pick one up. I mean the game library is huge, but the leap in graphics is becoming more and more evident as the 2 and 3rd generation games come out for the Xbox and GC.

McPizza was awesome!!! It lasted a while too - but if fazed out when it became common knowlege they were just using microwaves, not high tech machines :D

I agree t3h t3rminator, it's not going to make the games look any better, it's just a glorified DVD Burner... if it's cheap it might be a good investment just for that factor really.
