Hi,
I'm new here but I would really appreciate some feedback on a site I've just finished: www.markfoster.co.uk (http://www.markfoster.co.uk)
Thanks in advance

Yes it is his official site, it will be launched officially just before the European Championships in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for your verdict

splash: the colors dont seem to run well with the pic. i dont really like the color scheme on the splash at all....
site: preloaders are wierd. looks like they should have a growing bar to represent progress, but they dont. i dunno, that threw me off.
i for one am very tired of windows style sites. i dont like windows, and dont see how it could be so inspirational as to influence a site. if i wanna look at folders and icons and crap i can browse around program files. longhorn is gonna have a fancy-pants graphical interface with the alpha folder bg's and the stuff youve got there. maybe its just me, but i think the whole windows theme has gotten very cliched.
dont get me wrong, the sites pretty good, but dragging windows around isnt exactly a new trick.

some decent points made by gmh526 , and i agree to an extent with him. But the site wasnt really based on a windows theme, it was based more on our target audience, the theme of swimming, and the content of high res images (which, lets be fair, do enhance the page). So it was our target to produce a transluscent blue water feel, and a facility where people were able to get full use of the photographs by draggin the windows out of the focus for each different one.... as opposed to a more cliched image gallery.
Laslett thanks for your point as well, I'm going to review the preloaders as most of the criticism the site gets comes from that.
Thanks again

i liked the style and colours
is there any way you can automate rather than choose the screen size , menu part ?
as i was waiting for something to happen at that part and also pressing the centre pic of him to try and continue
does the fellow himself like it - i would say he was very impressed
you have done well

thats true kev, the high res pics are nice and youve probably got em set up the best way for viewing and optimization.
i still dont like windows though :)

GREAT JOB !!!
The only thing that I would consider changing would be the rollovers. They are a little too subtle. Try adding a bit of brightness to the blue on rollover.
Once again, GREAT JOB!!
