your materials need some work, but the model looks OK. Got a wire?

Hi there, late to the party, my connections been slow so i havent been able to view attachments, finally back to normal ... nice work there mindfriction.
As mentioned before you might have to play around and work some of your materials and your lighting and the camera positioning, right now the model looks more like a "model" the camera makes it look too small.
Keep at it.... :smirk:

Hi guys,
Forgot that I posted this thread :( lol.
Thanks for your feedback. I agree the materials and lighting arnt too good, just trying to get a "metallic" paint look in the car paint material is real hard....
Im using 3d max 5, its real good but I hear maya is better for making materials..
Its a spline model of audi blue prints with what is known as the "Surface Modifier" applied. The trick to making the body smooth and not rigid is the use of bezier corners on the spline vertices and just pain staking tweaking :P...There's heaps of tutes out there for this stuff but really you have to experiment yourself to get everything right, I mean thats my first model

3dsmax should be perfect for making a car material
keep working on those textures and keep it up!
