Director MX Stage Problem

NOTE: Forum search didn't help me, but so help me, I tried! ;)

K. This one has me stumped...

When I click anywhere within the stage on any .dir beyond the first screen (in my projector), the screen reverts back to the opening screen. Has anyone experienced this before?

I'm wondering if it has something to do with my cast members being stage items instead of images when they are imported...

Necessity is the mother of invention, or in my case intervention. Lepeep from the Ultrashock forums, www.ultrashock.com, helped me with this one.

If you are a Director user and would like to see the solution, go to the Ultrashock forums and search for "clicking error". You'll find it.

thanks for that. is this a specific problem with MX? I've used director extensivly (prior to mx) and never experienced this. thanks for the ehads up.

No. It's more of a stupid user problem. :)

I had a behavior that I had inadverently left in my template (thus in every .dir file) that said this:

on mouseUp
go to movie "home.dir"
end


Basically, every time that I clicked on any area of the stage that wasn't currently assigned a behavior it reverted back to the 'home' movie on mouseup.

Heh. Pretty basic but the first time I've faced it. ;)

As far as I know, MX is very stable. I've used it daily for the past 9 months and have learned to love it.
