I dont know if any americans followed the games from australia but I must say we did, and the final game today (England - Australia) was very tight....

All in all a good game, shame Australia couldnt get away with a win at home. But as they say "S.h.i.t. happens." Congrats England, but i know we(australia) arent going to hear the end of this :sigh:

be quiet you - we can't help it if the US have to create their own sports so that they're the only one's that are good at it.. :D

as for cups.. what about the Super Bowl? wow, it holds cereal.. or soup :P

I think its was more than Jonny Wilkinson.

Take that last drop goal, everyone knew it was coming he was stanging right up for it. Dawson knew that so pinched another 10 yards which made it like 95 % chance for Jonny Wilkinson.

The best add I saw was Jonny Wilkinson sittling on the bench with a bottle of Lucozade. The caption read Typical English come over to another country drink too much and spoil it for everyone.

Haha

:*( How embarrassing. I'm not a big fan of rugby but I was interested in the whole tournament just because it was being played at home. ****it! England aren't supposed to win. They suck at every sport. :P That's right poms, we still own you at rugby league and cricket! No one will beat us in cricket.

I was sick of hearing how good England are. I only saw a few matches but they don't play the most exciting rugby do they? I mean the team and their points revolve around little Jonny. Enjoy it while it lasts. See you in France in 2007.

I wasn't aware that pretty rugby was the way to go.

I think solid is the word you are looking for.

Take the French nice flowing rugby but a few big hits from the English and they fold. Its not exactly like Australia scored more tries today most of the points came from kicks.

I think if Australia has kicked 21 points today to win 20-21 This thread would have been different.

Oh and I noticed that there were alot of Australians on the floor today. Thats so unfair its not like its a contact sport!

What is pretty rugby? :h: Of course this thread would be different if Australia kicked 21 points to win 21-20! It would be Congrats Australia! rather than Congrats England! :P

Edit: On a side note, my connection problems to the forums have seem to disappeared. Let's hope it stays that way. :)

There was also some questionable descisions made by the ref that favoured Australia but even dispite that......

I'm more of a football fan than rugby, I have to admit, but I woke up early to watch the game. :) Definitely one that had me on the edge of my... er... well, bed really since I didn't actually bother to get up. :)

Very close, England made several mistakes, especially in the second half. Obviously I'm biased, but I'm with Laslett here, the ref did seem to swing towards the Aussies with the decisions. The scrums were all either "50/50, so do it again" or "The Brits cheated, Australia have the ball". :sure:

But what a way to win it though... Drop goal with 5 seconds left to play. God bless you Jonny Wilkinson (and Martin Johnson and everyone else). :beam:

I think he makes about an extra 5 mil in endorsements.

They were saying that he's due to make 10 mil but if he socores ponts in the dying moments to clinch it he will get 50% more.

Wheres David Beckham now.
