When the user types the URL I want the Flash movie to open on top of the html page and windowless (and transparent of course).

Hey,
i had the exact same specification, to make the .swf windowless and transparent. I could not find any way of doing this in Flash MX. However i have found that this is a feature of flash mx 2004 called "making the window chromeless". I havent tried it yet, but i hope this helps u.
This is the page that describes how 2 make it!

Couldnt you some how, put the flash in a layer ontop of your page? Making it movable might be more of a chore, but ive seen it done on MP3.com with the stupid GO Army flash ads.

just another thought, If you made a layer the size of your screen (100%x100% and loaded the flash into that layer, you should be able to make the thing go wherever you want it, layers are transparent and dont have borders. So theoretically if your flash movie was to scale, you could create an object in the flash movie that you could drag around anywhere no prob becuase the movie itself would be the sizxe of the screen

Well... You could load the flash movie inside of a span that has properties much like my movecd document found here...

Then just use the javascript I did and it should work out perfectly.. :D

Hey Marz that is sweet! I know ZILCH about Javascript though :(
Is there any way to translate that into AS? I'd like to do something similar with a magnifying lens type thing to improve accessibility for a website.
Anyone know if this is possible?
thanks :pir:

Is your site completely flash?
if it is then is should be super easy to create a draggable window type interface-without any annoying window bar things.
i could'nt find the code to make the object draggable right now but perhaps it is in one of the tutorials, just do a search for it, i will try and track down the code for you!
good luck
