Is Cinema 3d better than 3ds Max? That, photoshop and illustrator are what they used for The Horus Project.

cinema 4d
Not better but different; it's cheaper and isn't used as much... I recommend it, especially if you can use bodyshop, the 3d texture painting app that goes with it...

hahahahaha....body shop. 3ds max has 10x the resources on the web than anyother app. And has a firm hold of the gaming industry.

Well if I don't have any knowledge of either one and I wanted to make something cool like the Horus project no matter how long it took which program would you reccommend?

this is more a matter of experience, not the proggy you use, im sure this could be done with swift and psp instead of 3ds and ps.
I recommend c4d because it's an intuitive prog (easy to handle), full of nice capabilites (and a good render engine). But cheaper =)

let the war begin :beam:.......I would have to definately say 3ds max, because they have the best set of modifiers in the industry. I mean you can literally make abstract art in like 15secs. Seriously......Modifiers are the best in max. And that is a complete n00b picking it up for the first time. 15 secs and you can make abstract art.

Being a maya slave myself :P i totally agree with DDD :!:
The modifiers in 3dMax are just amazing and so easy to work with, i could bend , twist and extrude geometry in a matter of seconds!
