Some sites are designed so that illustration images merge with buttons with rollover capability ;

I am designing a lay out for a site in two steps : first the image "OFF" state and 2nd exactly the same image but with some collors changes for the "ON" state buttons ;

My main trouble will be slicing with precision and create the table so that there will be no staggering effect when rollover occurs ;

I´ve tried Ulead Smart Saver which proved not to be a friendly tool ;

So what do you recommend me for slicing ???

Cheers

Fireworks not only creates the slices, but also allows you to create alternate images for the various mouseover states for each slice then creates the HTML page for them, complete with rollover script coding. :thumb:

also intergrates real well with DW, the round trip editting is the bomb......BUt you will need PS at some point in time for advanced graphic design, but for slicing nothing beats FW.

Hey Thank you all guys for your posts ;
I go along with abzoid , Photoshop is nothing but friendly
as far as slicing is concerned ;
I think I will try Fireworks is it a friendly software ? (I am still traumatized with Macromedia thanks to Flash MX 2004 lol)

you will not go far without knowledge of those proggys (MM suite) so better get used to them.

I really dislike PS slices, and since I use DW it only makes sense to take advantage of round trip editting.
