Alright. Hey everyone. I was just pulled out of class today and told that my computer hacked grade quick on my teachers computer and that multiple students grades were changed. Me.. I cant hack my way out of a paperbag. But all the evidence is pointing to me. They cant prove I did it. But I cant prove I didnt. Anyone help me? This seriously sucks.

i don't think you have anything to worry about, well maybe a little, but remember the old phrase "innocent until proven guilty". It's very hard to prove you didnt do something, you can't cover yourself for every single second of every single day of every day of you life. Generally, that's why in court, the prosecuters have to prove that you did something, you don't have to prove that you didn't do something. Good Luck Man.

Yah. I'm telling him to check logs and it wont come from me. I dont think I have anything to worry about. I know a fair amount about computers systems but not enough to be able to do that.

You need an alibi ;) Does anyone else use your computer? Basically if you can prove that you were not behind the computer when the teacher's computer was hacked, then you're innocent ;)

Yah thats true

**EDIT**

I'm going to see what happens. I know I didnt do it so I dont have anything to worry about. Even if it did come from my computer. Theres 6 other people who use this computer. I'll keep you guys updated. :hr:

I hope you don't get framed! Hopefully if you did, the person who did would own up or something...

Have confidence. Don't show fear. And let them know you're confident - tell them you know nothing wont happen to you because you didn't do it and there's no way they can prove it. And if they do prove it, laugh in their faces and tell them they're lying and that they're just using you as a scapegoat and to stop being childish and act like adults for f--ks sake.

yes if you didn't do it-

remain confident. act sure of yourself.

also do you log in to use the computers? or is it shared use?

depends on what that log would say-

if you didn't do it, don't worry- just don't start acting all weird on them- be cool and confident.

I heard of a kid who said that he didn't hack into some mainframe computer ... he said that a Trojan horse took over his computer and whoever gave him the Trojan used his computer to hack into everything.

He got off in a legal court setting - perhaps it will work for you?

Grade quick is not all that secure to begin with... I helped to install it at a school as a side job a year ago. In any case, tell them you had nothing to do with it, and unless they can prove otherwise you would like them to stop accusing you. Remember they can be held responsible for libel and slander. ;)

Cheers!
