I'll tell ya for sure they used photoshop....Hue/Saturation/Colorize.....I am not totally sure if that is 3d or a photo manip. I am leaning towards photomanip, My guess is all photoshop and flash. gj either way

why do these sites always wait until 100% is loaded, before beginning the animation?

I mean Flash was designed to stream, so that you wouldn't have to wait for the entire swf to download before you began to see it...

poor or lazy design in my book. especially since there isn't any large single item to d/l, their intro animation could be going on while you are d/l the rest...

don't be so narrow-minded rev :P

there's a few of us who likes that type of site, me for instance, I thought it was hella awesome, calm, cool and futuristic, with a touch of mystery! :P

I didn't say I didn't like it...

I am jsut curious why have a preloader, if it waits until everything is loaded?

It is well done.

My statement was more of a philosophical one rather than one pointed at this particular site.

how was the blur to sharp image transition done?

looks like an alpha tween to me... just with the two diff versions of the image fading in and out

"I am jsut curious why have a preloader, if it waits until everything is loaded?
"

So people can see HOW much has been loaded... :) Instead of just seeing a blank screen :)

actually, I think it is because these sites are done with one frame, essentially no animation with tweens, so they really don't know how much to load before continuing, so they go the safe route, and load 100% before playing...

but that is just a theory.

rev: most likely, but again, most sites like this one is directed towards high band connections :)

Some like to push the net, set new standards, and I for one really like it, but still, one SHOULD keep it decent...

but I'd also rather see a preloader for 2 minutes than watch a blank screen for 2 minutes :)
