Hmm, couldnt you just download a free FTP client like WS_FTP or a trial of Cute FTP to do the CHMODING? Actually, this is untested but it MIGHT work. if you have your site defined in DW, try going to the "files" panel and under files switch to "remote view" this shows your files on the server.. you might be able to CHMOD it through a right click there.. but again - I have no clue, its just a thought.

Ever used Google?
try dreamweaver+chmod, 1st result is
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum46/235.htm
and should answer your question..
If not, here's more:
http://www.cgi-interactive.co.uk/dreamweaver_chmod_scripts.html
(also from same google search..)

PS: there is an extension over at MM exchange
( http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?view=sn120#loc=en_us&view=sn106&viewName=Exchange%20Search%20Details&authorid=13654190&page=0&scrollPos=0&subcatid=0&snid=sn106&itemnumber=1&extid=15201&catid=0 ) , called "Set Permission" just in case the link gets f*** up, but that was for DW4, no idea if it'll work in MX2004...

my site is hosted with designR web so they have a file manager that allows me to change the permissions.

P.S. DESIGN R web are worth a look for hosting, cheap and loads of help and features.

It's really gay the one has to download a free ftp uploader to change their **** file permissions when their $200 one can't do it. Common macromedia! I was hoping so badly that dreamweaver2004 would finally fix this problem but it doesn't. WHY WHY WHY!

I'm scared to download that DW4 exension...somebody test it for me :p.
