Stroke Weight issue returns like a bad penny

I read the thread for this issue from 2005 and now I'm having a heck of a problem with it in CS5. The stroke weight will not go below 1pt. Whether I try using the drop-down list or entering manually, no go. It seems like it may be a bug because every so often it will work. Does anybody have any insight into this issue?

It works fine for me. Try re-installing the application or clearing the application cache.

I was able to get it to 0.5pt.
