Hi guys, ive been looking around and i have realised lately designers are creating this rough, patchy kind of look and feel. Its not only present on the web but in print too. I have some url's here so it makes it easier to view the style that i am talking about.

http://giovannidipalma.irisnet.it/ (enter the site and look mainly at the top )
http://www.24-7media.de/ (mainly at the top again )
http://www.pioneergraphics.com/flash.htm (the entire interface)

Does anyone know how to go about creating this look and feel?

sup dave. Yeah i see the trend as well, From what i can see it basically using layer styles and compositing a fair bit of images together with a few tricks, things like burning the edges of a paper (colour burn the edges of a shape) , cutting out areas, uneven lines. its a constant unconsitancy if you know what i mean.

also heard that you can create looks like that using brushes in photoshop, check this site out.

it is called grunge brushes. It was a hot topic for a while here. search the D&D board and you will find all you need to know. Plus the stick up top has stuff on it.

24-7media site is very scary to me!
