Twist modifier in 3ds max 5

Please help me... I am doing this candlestick tutorial at http://www.the3dstudio.com/(3njf3a45xngvbu45bdp2mj45)/tutorials.aspx?id_tutorial=13 and everything goes great until I get to the twist bit - it doesn't come out like that - at 720 nothing happens - I have tried lower and higher numbers and I don't get the twist I need - it doesn't spiral like in the tutorial and I don't know what is wrong... :puzzle: :*(

thanks for that... I feel like a complete idiot ... now i see what happens if i don't use max for a couple months ... the segments didn't cross my mind... idiot idiot ...
