All the cards you mentioned are good. The 9600 Pro may have an edge over the 5600, but the differences are so small, you may consider going with the 5600. nVidia cards are easier in my point of view because updating the drivers is a lot easier - none of the installation issues that plague ATI driver sets. Up to you though.
A good site to check for reviews is http://www.anandtech.com :panda:

Is that bad or good http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1821
Kirupa what are you using Nvidia or ATI
So Nvidia is better because they hold better controle on there drivers by updating them. ATi si bad because they dont put updates. :puzzle:
I like how ATI graphic card look like its cool design :)

Both cards put out updates, but it is more of a pain to update the ATI cards. Right now I am using a Radeon 9000 (Pro? - not sure) on my laptop, and I have a fairly outdated nVidia GeForce 3 on my desktop. I just never had any compatibility issues or any driver installation issues with my nVidia.

S3 Savage4 PCI 32MB is the way to go :thumb:
Seriously, though, you should wait either during or after Christmas; most of the higher-end cards will go down in price by then.

*lol*...
I have a Radeon 9700 pro.. It got excellenmt reviews by everyone... I love it!.. Now... nVidia are aso **** good cards as well.. My suggestion would be to pick what is the best choice at the time when you go to buy them.. Look at the amount of memory they are allocated on the card... :)
You know.. 64mb 128.. or whatever... And pick the best deal :) Post the prices closer to that time on the site iof you need more help then.

i thought updating the drivers was easy as well
never had an nVidia, but I definitely recommend ATI, i just don't think there is any way that nVidia could be better :)

NOT Powercolor... btw, based on benchmarks, the GF4 MX440 is equivalent to a GF3 Ti200 (or 500, forget which one) but much cheaper ;)
Sorry eilsoe.

LoL
Obviously, the programmers at NVIDIA use some cheats in the 3DMark03 test, first of all in Game1 and Game4. Whatever the test and no matter how a given company relates to the test, it's bad to accelerate cards at the expense of the image quality, and it must be punished.

i bought a Geforce FX 5900 non ultra, and seriously havent had a hick ups yet, everything i have run is supported and runs all games at high res with all bells and whistles on, i have alot of demos for new Direct x9 games, fifa / good and evil / NSF underground (which is absolutely awesome!!) tiger woods.
And im only running this card half way because of my motherboard only being 4x AGP,and i dont mess with any of the setting in the NVidia properties.
So this card can get only better for me, while it is more than good enough at the moment ;)

I have a ATI, and it's a great card. You probably have more probs with drivers updating and this stuff.
I think Nvidia is good if you don't like checking for new drivers and this stuff.....

I have a radeon 9500 pro, and it serves its purpose well, but I want an all in wonder. I have not experienced any driver issues with this card, but there are some minor graphical anomalies in some games, but I think thats going to happen with almost any graphics card.

I have the Radeon8500 DV = All in wonder. It's a nice card. But at the beginning I had lots of problems, coz when I updated the display drivers I couldn't watch tv sometimes. That really pissed me off. But now since newer drivers came out I don't have any problems anymore. The Multimedia Center Software is just awesome, especially with the remote control... :D
