i'm a bit new to photoshop, and i have this silly yet simple question. Is there any other way of importing images to flash other than saving it and then loading it into flash, how do i use the copy paste command there?

yeah you can copy whatever image is on the clipboard to flash. Flatten your image in PS. do a cntrl A to select the entire canvas...Do a cntrl C to copy it. Then in Flash do a cntrl V. Although you are better off importing it as a png 24 to hold transparencies.

so, if i save it as a png the transparency remains?

yes when going to (or using in) flash. But if you use a png in a regular html enviroment you will get discoloration.

be careful with PNGS as they are HUGE in filesize. It's basically as big as a colored jpg + its b&w(used for alpha) image...

PNG's are large in size, but flash compresses it down so the final out come isn't so bad. I prefer to use PNGs instead of GIFs.

An advantage of saving the file first then importing it into flash is that you get more control over the quality of the image.
When you're just copying and pasting it in, you lose that control.
