When using templates for a vector job. How do you stop the image from resizing when I do a File>>Place>> Then open as a template object. The original image is 1200x 1200 But when I bring it into Illustrator It is really small. I have to rescale it. I am using sublayers each with a template layer and I am afraid that if I have to resize each template layer then my drawiong may be off a lil bit.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with Template Objects, but try copy/paste into Illustrator. That's worked for me. Just make sure the new Illustrator file is RGB.

what type of file are you importing into illustrator? because it shouldn't be scalling if you are placing files like you are (file / place)?

ok figure out where you might have gone wrong. When working with images importing into illustrator, you must look at the document size in photoshop, not the pixels but the document size. You have probably set up a document as you said 1200 X 1200 but you have a image that has 150 or 300 dpi. This is why you have been importing image that are smaller than you have set them up to be. The only case where this will not matter is when your images are set up in 72 dpi (screen resolution).

I looked at it and the image is 800x600 and 72 dpi.......hmmm it is working now....I must have changed something and dont know it. But thanks Soulty.
