check out this flash usability testing tool http://useitbetter.com/
I managed to record a users session and later on exactly replay it. Its way better that google analytics and by that i mean more accurate. I can store users mouse actions, vars and time he spent on each part of the site, users location. All the data i can watch on a neat chart on their site.
The downside is that it requires a bit of api knowledge, but is quite easy to use.
What do you think of it? Is it worth it to collect such precise data?

Seems like a good idea in principle but not sure how many will be keen on having their whole session recorded from a privacy point of view.

you already give a lot data away to google analitics or other data storing systems.. this gives just more raw data and more possibilities to read them. Lets be honest, privacy is nonexistent, you dont usually read the single users data but look at an overall statistic.. but you could look at a single session if you want to

Interesting. Having a usability tool that focuses specifically on Flash would be very useful. I do find it ironic that a site based around usability would use such a garish shade of turquoise.

very interesting. One use I can think of , for game testing is to watch game sessions. it would give a good idea of first time game play, difficulty, common pitfalls, overall first impression gameplay. I am quite good at my current game, but others suck, so I know I need to tweak it. this would be a good way to see what they do...
of course I wouldn't use a site if I knew they were using it haha

seems like a good tool, but, i think recording others visits without their consent is highly unethical and unprofessional, there will have to be a form of permission before you do this.
