Ive just got Photoshop 7.0 and cinema 4d for specifically making website designs and layouts for soundclick pages. Although i am an absolute newbie i have no idea where to start, Ive seen a lot of coll videos but none really explain how to make the layout and how to get things to fall into place.

heres a few examples what i am aiming for:

any advice to get me started will be great, especially how to link things like css codes to the website

Well you can make a website design in photoshop alone.
Cinema4d can be used to create 3d elements (or animation) which can be used in the website.
You would need some good fonts. A good combination of colors.
3d should be used sparingly. Overuse can damage or compliment a website. It depends on the direction its heading.
Say you need a 3d glass looking globe then you would do that in Cinema4d if you have the materials(maps) then render and get it into photoshop as a png format or something.
Rest is your imagination.
If you like a site, try to make that site for practice. The closer you get, the more your skill improves.
