I have seen it used before I was looking for some guidnace. I have taken and used the Photoshop tute on the Pill Button at

It worked out great.
I want to make a java swap image, which I know how to do, with a photoshop rendition of the button being pushed. Maybe I'll tween in flash, Don't know yet. But, How do I make the art in Photosop to resemble the Pill Button depressed. To see my Pill Buttons go to

U'd be better off just using html instead of Java, i don't know how to make it depressed, but i'd guess just switch the bevel and emboss around to an inner emboss instead of an inner bevel

to make something pseudo-depressed just switch the light source from the upper left to the lower right.

If you didn't know this already, we generally see something as bumping out if it is lighter on the upper left and darker on the lower right. (take the kirupaforum buttons for example) so if you want to pseudo-depress them just switch the highlighting and shading. Hopefully that helps
