Dreamweaver and MySQL

Hi, has anyone used Dreamweaver with a MySQL Database? I'm trying to connect to my server but I can't. I'm guessing it's because they restrict remote connections to databases. Is there a way to use dreamweaver's application building features without being connected to the database?
